This odd , but extremely cute, instrument is called a Banjo-Uke. It's origins date back to the early 1920's and 1930's and it was made by The Gibson company. It has 4-strings and it's tuned and strung like most Ukes, but with a tiny banjo head and resonator. This particular piece is in excellent shape. There are no cracks or fractures anywhere on the body. And as far as we can tell, the entire thing is original, with the exception of the strings and the head. Although, they COULD be original as well, but it's hard to believe that they would survive an entire 100 years!...this thing is THAT old!. We have NOT changed or replaced anything on this awesome little instrument. We strived to preserve it's originality and integrity. We will leave that up to the lucky buyer who lands this small, but awesome piece of American History. At this price it's not going to last long. Go ahead and grab it!..you know you want to!!
